Verizon Tweets Out Branded Galaxy S6 And Galaxy S6 Edge Handsets; Available In Early Q2

Samsung has held their Unpacked conference in Barcelona as part of MWC (Mobile World Congress) two days ago and announced the company’s new flagship devices. This Korean tech giant has announced the long-awaited Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices. These two handsets present a new way for Samsung, well, in a way. TouchWiz is still here, though it’s slightly redesigned, but the two handsets are made out of metal and glass, unlike Samsung’s previous offerings. You’ll find glass panel both on back and front of this device along with a metal chassis. The Galaxy S6 Edge sports a curved screen on both sides, while the Galaxy S6 is more of a conventional phone if we can call it that.

That being said, all four major U.S. carriers have already said that they’ll carry these devices, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, along with U.S. Cellular, and you can expect it to arrive in April. Anyhow, Verizon Wireless has announced via Tweet that both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will arrive in early Q2 this year (April definitely fits here), and the carrier has also shown us how the device’s will look like. You can check out those images down below, and as you can see, they’ll sport Verizon branding on the back. There you have it folks, an official confirmation from Verizon.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge sport almost the same specs, though they look somewhat different due to that curved display on the Galaxy S6 Edge. Anyhow, these device feature a 5.1-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32, 64 or 128GB of internal storage. You don’t get microSD card this time around, nor a removable battery though. 14nm Samsung Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor is powering on these devices and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz on top of them. 16-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of these handsets and a wide-angle 5-megapixel snapper is available up front. That’s it, anyone out there intends to pick one of these up from Verizon when they become available by any chance?
