ZTE Nubia Z9 will become the company’s 2015 flagship handset. This Chinese smartphone manufacturer has already teased the announcement of the Z9 for March 26th. The company will quite probably also launch the Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini at that event as well. The Nubia Z9 was already quietly showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona recently, though the company didn’t officially announce the device. Anyhow, let’s get back to the Nubia Z9, shall we. This handset has leaked many times before, and many of those leaks have showed us a device with basically no bezel on the sides, much like the most recent leak.
We now have some new info to share with you, ZTE’s upcoming flagship has popped up AnTuTu benchmarks and showed us its specs. According to the listing, the Nubia Z9 will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor which ships with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. Android 5.0.2 will come pre-installed on this device with ZTE’s proprietary UI on top of Google’s operating system. 16-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this thing, and you can expect to see an 8-megapixel snapper on the front. We’re talking about a NX510J model here by the way.
First of all, keep in mind that we might be looking at a Z9 Mini here, not the Z9. Why? Well, the Nubia Z7 which launched last year sported a 5.5-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) display, and it seems unlikely that ZTE will launch its successor with a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display. This is most likely the Nubia Z9 Mini we’re looking at here, though we can’t confirm that at this point of course, it is always possible that ZTE decided to go back to a 1080p resolution and offer a smaller display this time around. Either way, we’ll find out everything soon enough, though we’ll probably see more leaks before ZTE actually announces these devices. Let us know what you think in the comments.
