Acer Announces Their New 8-Inch Iconia One 8 B1-820 Tablet With Zero Air Gap Technology

Acer has announced a slew of new products today, one of which was a new 8-inch tablet called the Iconia One 8. The name says it all as the Iconia One 8 delivers consumers a tablet with an 8-inch HD IPS display with zero air gap technology that Acer claims helps to really bring out the vibrancy and colors of the screen. This new tablet joins Acer’s other 8-inch tablets in the lineup, with one of the most boasted features of this new device being the accuracy of the touch on the screen and the accuracy of the writing experience users will get thanks to the Acer Precision Plus technology.

The tablet has an optional stylus available for the writing purposes but of course you could use the stylus for anything else, and with the focus on accuracy Acer mentions that it’s great for sketching, which makes this ideal for anyone who might work with Photoshop on the tablet or drawing and sketching apps like Autodesk. When it comes to the specifications, the Iconia One 8 comes with an 8-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution, powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor, and allows for either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage space depending on how much you need. It’s also running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box so the software is up to date, which means users will experience the bold use of colors and lively animations that are laden throughout Lollipop’s material design guidelines.

The Iconia One 8 only weighs about 355 grams so it should be plenty light enough to hold for extended periods of time and be easy to tote around in a bag, making it ideal for students or anyone who needs a more mobile device for work. To further enhance the user experience Acer has included a collection of applications called Iconia Suite, which offers apps like EZ Note for sketching out ideas or just jotting down notes in class or at meetings. There’s also EZ WakeUp, which is more or less like it sounds, a simple way to wake up the display by double tapping it. There’s also EZ Snap for screenshots, EZ Gadget for multi-tasking, and System Doctor for helping you manage your system storage and memory to help keep things running smoothly. It also features an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 3MP front-facing camera, and should last on the battery for up to 8.5 hours depending on how you use it. It’ll be available in the U.S. in July starting at just $149 and the EMEA starting at â‚¬179 in April.
