HBO Now Available on Sling TV, for $15/month

Sling TV announced today that HBO has been added to their ever growing number of channels included in their service. While HBO isn’t part of their core package, it is offered for $15 per month and has arrived just in time for the Game of Thrones Season Premiere. Since Sling TV launched in January, Dish and Sling have been adding and adding more and more channels and content to the service. Making it a really viable service for those looking to cut the cord. They just recently added a ton of A&E channels including the History Channel and AMC. As well as EPIX family of channels for movies and such. And there’s more on the way. Sling TV also has a pretty comprehensive VOD library for you to find something to watch when there’s nothing on TV.

“We continue to give TV lovers the content they want on the devices they already own,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. “We know Sling TV is the only way most of our customers can watch HBO shows like ‘Game of Thrones’ live. Adding HBO’s live and extensive on-demand content to our lineup highlights our continued commitment to bringing customers the very best programming.”

Sling TV is available for $20 per month and you get about 20 channels with that. Which includes ESPN, ESPN2, TBS, TNT, CNN, Bloomberg, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and many more. Sling also has a slew of other TV channels that are available in packages that start at $5 per month. Including a “Sports Extra” which brings you a ton of other ESPN channels, although it is still missing Fox Sports. Which hopefully will be added soon. They also have “Hollywood Extra,” “Kids Extra,” “Lifestyle Extra” and “World News Extra” packages that all start at $5 per month.

I’ve been using Sling for a few months now, and absolutely love it. I’ve never really had cable, nor was I a huge TV watcher. But for those that watch a little bit of TV, this is definitely a great choice. And it’s going to be interesting to see where the company is a year from now.
