Huawei P8 Lite Prototype Surfaces, Octa-Core SoC And 2GB Of RAM In Tow

We’ve been seeing a lot of leaks regarding Huawei’s upcoming P8 flagship. The company has announced a while back that the device will be announced on April 15th in London, and leaks / rumors have been coming in like crazy over the last couple of weeks. The device has already been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), which only confirmed its specifications and looks. The Huawei P8 will sport almost no bezel on the sides, well, at least according to the device pictured in TENAA’s listing. Some rumors have been saying that Huawei might release two, or even three variants of this handset. Huawei P8, Huawei P8 Lite and Huawei P8 Platinum Edition have all been mentioned lately. The P8 Lite would be a somewhat less powerful version of the regular P8 handset, and the Platinum Edition is said to sport the same specifications as the regular version, but will include sapphire glass on both its front and back.

That being said, one of these handsets showed up in new images. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see seven new images showcasing the device. It seems like this is the Lite version of Huawei’s upcoming flagship considering the 2GB of RAM this device will sport (3rd image down below). You may also notice that this is just a prototype of the device because we don’t get to see its design, this handset is basically hidden by a thin rubber case. The second image down below also confirms that this handset will come with dual SIM support, that very same image also kind of shows a slightly rounded metal chassis. Pieces of the Emotion 3.0 UI have also been shown in these images, but they really don’t reveal all that much.

According to the third image down below, this device will feature a 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. We’re probably looking at Huawei’s Kirin 925 octa-core SoC here, the same one powering on the company’s Mate 7 phablet. The image also reveals that Android 4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed on the device with company’s Emotion (EMUI) 3.0 skin on top of Google’s OS.
