Oppo has released a couple of devices this year, and the company has held an event in Morocco recently, announcing their arrival to the African continent. The company will start offering their N3 and R5 devices in Morocco first, and will make their way to some other countries in Africa. That being said, it seems like Oppo is getting ready to announce yet another handset to their R-series of devices, at least according to the newest leak which is coming from China.
According to this information, the devices pictured in the gallery down below will be another addition to Oppo’s R-series of devices. You can see that by the design itself, it resembles the previous R devices, eat least to some extent. Anyhow, this handset will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display with a pixel density of 441 PPI. Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core SoC will power on this handset along with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage wasn’t mentioned in the leak, but we’re guessing 16GB will be available along with a microSD card slot. The 13-megapixel camera is expected to be this device’s main shooter (quite probably Sony’s sensor). 4G LTE connectivity is also expected here.
If you take a look at the images down below, you’ll notice that this handset features 3 capacitive buttons below the display, just like other devices from the R line of devices. Metal seems to be a part of the design here as well, you’ll notice the metallic trim around the device. Camera and the LED flash are also visible in the second image, and the color combination seems to be quite similar to the R5 as well. This leak did not provide any information regarding the availability of this handset. It will almost certainly launch in Asia first, but we have no idea how much will it cost and if Oppo has any plans to offer it in other markets. That being said, Oppo has also released the R1C handset back in February, which is also quite similar to this device. We’ll report back as soon as we get more info regarding this handset, stay tuned.
