Oppo R5 Information:
Oppo launched Oppo R5 alongside company's flagship Oppo N3. R5 definitely wasn't the main attraction at that event, but it did surprise us all. Oppo did tease another smartphone prior to the launch, but nobody expected that device to be the thinnest smartphone in the world. Oppo R5 is only 4.85mm thin and thus is at the moment (post launch) the thinnest smartphone in the world, though I don't doubt that will change soon. 4.85mm is too thin some would say, especially considering the 2,000mAh battery which is located on the inside. At least the device comes with VOOC rapid charging which should get you from 0% to 75% charge in under 30 minutes.
Oppo R5 features a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080, 423ppi) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615, a 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 2.1GHz which comes with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of the device, you'll find a 13-megapixel camera featuring Sony's IMX214 sensor (f2.0 aperture) which is flanked by an LED flash. 5-megapixel shooter is located at the front side of the device and it offers an 80-degree wide angle lens. As I already mentioned, the device ships with 2000mAh battery. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this handset with Oppo's ColorOS 2.0 on top of it. Oppo R5 measures 148.9 x 74.5 x 4.85mm while it weighs 155 grams.

The first thing I thought to myself when I heard this device is only 4.85 was "too thin". Oppo managed to pack a rather small 2000mAh battery inside this thing and it simply cannot provide enough juice to that 5.2-inch 1080p panel this device ships with. VOOC rapid charging will definitely soften the blow and charge that battery fast, but that won't do you much good if you're not close to an outlet in the middle of the day. Other than the battery size, this device is a really solid offering by the company and has a really nice spec sheet. This is not exactly the first device I'd recommend to people, but as I said, it's a solid offering none the less.
