Huawei’s upcoming device known as the P8 has been seen in various rumors and leaks for the past month or so, with speculation on price, availability, and specifications. Previous rumors had pegged the P8 as coming with Huawei’s Kirin 930 octa-core CPU on board although that was later surpassed by a new rumor stating that Huawei would instead choose to forego the Kirin 930 and in place of it use a newer Kirin 935 octa-core CPU. There has already been some talk that consumers would be looking at a price of around 2,999 Yuan when the phone launches, which is scheduled to happen on or around April 22nd with an unveiling happening about a week prior during a Huawei launch event on April 15th. If that price is true, it converts to about $484 USD.
New pricing leaks from today thanks to mydrivers suggest the earlier rumor about the price to be somewhat accurate, stating that the Huawei P8 will cost about 2,988 Yuan, which is nearly what we saw from the pricing rumors just a few days ago. They also mention a higher priced model, however, which could be a slightly higher-end device coming with a price tag that is rumored to be 3,288 Yuan, which is roughly $535. Whether or not Huawei launches both models of the phone and what they’re differences could be are unclear, but if Huawei plans to unveil the phone or phones at next weeks’s event then there won’t much of a wait before the official details are made public.
According to the rumors about the specifications, the Huawei P8 will most likely come equipped with a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1080 x 1920) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB or 16GB of internal storage with the option to expand on that via a microSD card. Other specs rumors place a 13MP camera with a dual-LED flash on the back of the device and Android 5.0 Lollipop running on it out of the box, with Huawei’s latest Emotion UI overlayed on top. It’s also rumored to come powered by a 2,520mAh battery and a 5MP camera on the front of the device. Huawei’s event is slated for next Wednesday, so there’s a little over a week before official information is likely revealed.
