Xiaomi has held the company’s ‘i Is Coming’ event in India yesterday, and as part of that event the company has announced two new devices for the Indian market. Xiaomi has announced the all new Xiaomi Mi 4i mid-ranger and the Mi Band fitness tracker which was available in other markets previously. We’ve already covered that event extensively and have a ton of Mi 4i coverage available on the site, so check that out if you’re interested. That being said, Xiaomi has released a number of promo videos for this handset.
There are 5 Xiaomi Mi 4i promo videos embedded below this article. The first one is called ‘Innovation made compact’ and it basically showcases the overall design and various color options this device will be available in. In the second video below Xiaomi showcases its display technology. The Mi 4i sports a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) panel, but it packs some hardware tech in order to make it different and in a way better according to Xiaomi. That technology automatically adjusts contrast for each pixel and makes content more visible in certain conditions. The company actually calls this the ‘Sunlight Display’ and this video will give you an idea what’s it all about.
The third video is rather interesting. People oftenly complain about greasy and reflective back covers which are basically fingerprint magnets. Well, Xiaomi has added some sort of a special coating to the back of the Mi 4i in order to prevent such things. Well, Xiaomi has a rather odd way to showcase this, they drew something on the back of the Mi 4i and then wiped it off. In the fourth video the Mi 4i is put through several tests in order to prove how durable it is. Xiaomi put it through UV exposure, thermal shock, vibrations, tumbles, flat drop, pressure, water resistance, corner drops and abrasion resistance tests.
The last video shows us how Xiaomi Mi 4i are being assembled in China. The video shows automated assembly process in this video. The Xiaomi Mi 4i features a 5-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor and it features a 13-megapixel camera on the back. 5-megapixel snapper is located on the front side of this smartphone and Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 OS on top of it. The device will be available in India starting April 30th in a range of color options.
