Xiaomi President Lei Jun Confirms Launch Date For The Mi Note Pro As May 6th

Xiaomi has been on the rise over the last year, with increasing sales of their high-end yet low priced handsets. It’s been this tactic of actually producing a high-quality smartphone without hiking up the price that helped to push them to new and untold heights for such a young startup company, and another device is on the horizon which will likely help to fuel their popularity and success even further up the ladder. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. The Mi Note Pro is a tuned up version of the original Mi Note which was announced alongside it at the very beginning of the year, but Xiaomi has  yet to actually launch the phone. This is apparently changing come May 6th, which Xiaomi President Lei Jun states the phone will finally go on sale.

The confirmation about the launch came by way of Lei Jun’s official Weibo account, but that’s a detail some may find less important. What most people likely want to know (or in this case reiterate since it’s already been known for some time) is what the cost of the device will be. To recap from the announcement about the device back in January, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro will end up costing consumers a price of CNY 3,299, which is equal to roughly $532 or â‚¬496.

For all of that cost, consumers are getting a handful of pretty decent specifications, like the 4GB of RAM. This is a feature that currently only the ASUS ZenFone 2 offers, although you’d probably be hard pressed to find a time when you would need all that memory on your smartphone. Besides the RAM, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro also comes with 64GB of internal storage space, (no expandable storage) and a 5.7-inch QHD screen an all of that hardware is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor. It also carries a 3,000mAh battery, although some feel this won’t be enough to support the likes of the CPU and screen quality. When it comes to the cameras, the Mi Note Pro sports a 4MP front-facing camera for video chat, and the main camera on the back is a 13MP shooter. All in all, those who are looking for a more than decent smartphone for less cost, should probably be considering the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. As always, this device will be available through Xiaomi’s official channels as well as on their own website, and if you’re a consumer in the U.S. who is interested in the device you can always have it shipped over here.
