After months of leaks, rumors, and official teasers, ZTE has finally announced their Nubia Z9 flagship earlier this month. The Nubia Z9 joins the likes of Nubia Z9 Max and Z9 Mini which launched earlier this year. This is a true flagship offering by ZTE, and even unique in some way. The device sports no bezel on the side, the only thing that separates the screen from your hand is the frame of the device, there are no black bars on the sides either. This handset also sports ‘FiT’ technology, which is short for ‘Frame Interaction Technology‘. This tech basically lets you swipe the sides of the device in order to interact with the software on it, it’s quite interesting and something that we haven’t seen before.
That being said, this handset has launched in China already, and we had no idea when the company intends to offer it outside of their homeland. Well, if you live outside of China, you can now pre-order it, but not directly from ZTE. The online retailer, OppoMart, has opened up pre-orders for the Nubia Z9, in case you’re interested. OppoMart did not say when the device will become available though, but considering the pre-orders are now open, it shouldn’t be long before they start shipping units our way. The retailer is offering the ‘Classic’ and ‘Elite’ variants of the Nubia Z9, the former variant features 3GB of RAM, and the latter one will ship with 4GB of RAM on the inside. OppoMart has priced the ‘Classic’ variant of the device at $649, while the ‘Elite’ variant costs $749. If you’d like to pre-order either of these models, follow the source link down below.
The Nubia Z9 features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. This handset features 3 or 4GB of RAM, depending on the unit you purchase (ZTE has announced 3 different variants). Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC is powering on the Nubia Z9 along with an Adreno 430 GPU. The 2,900mAh battery is also a part of this package, and same can be said about 4G LTE connectivity. The 16-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of this handset, and an 8-megapixel snapper is available on its front side. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with ZTE’s Nubia UI 3.0 installed on top of Google’s OS. This handset also offers dual-SIM connectivity, for those of you who need it.
