As is common with all new electronics, iFixit has decided to tear down the LG Watch Urbane and has rated it at 7 out of 10. With 1 being the toughest to repair and 10 being the easiest. So not a bad score at all. Especially compared to the Apple Watch getting a 5 out of 10 here. Some of the internals found in the LG Watch Urbane include the SK Hynix H9TU32A4GDMC 512MB Mobile DDR2 RAM, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 is hidden underneath the DRAM device. There’s also the Qualcomm PM8226 PMIC, Broadcom BCM4343 integrated communications module, Single microphone, and a vibrator motor. There are two microphone ports, but just one microphone. Likely that LG added two so that it’s symmetrical. The vibrator motor is for when you get notifications and your wrist vibrates, every Android Wear smartwatch has one.
So the LG Watch Urbane is pretty easy to repair, not the easiest, but not the toughest. Still nice to see it get a pretty decent score, especially considering its $350 price tag that goes along with the watch. The LG Watch Urbane has been one of the more popular watches recently and that’s likely due to the design of the watch, it looks like the LG G Watch R, but a bit more high-end, which probably explains that higher price tag.
The LG Watch Urbane is available now from many retailers including Google, AT&T and Verizon. It’s likely that we’ll see some pretty sweet deals on the LG Watch Urbane with the LG G4 when that goes on sale late May or early June. So we’ll be on the lookout for those. The leather LG G4 would look great with the LG Watch Urbane though, but that’s just my opinion.
