Metal Unibody Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Images Surface

Xiaomi has been announcing devices left and right this year. This China-based company has released quite a few smartphones since January, and not to mention all the other non-smartphone gadgets. Xiaomi is still expected to announce a number of devices in the coming months though, and the Redmi Note 2 is definitely one of them. The first-gen Redmi Note handset has been announced back in March 2014, which means it’s been over 14 months since its release, and it’s about time for the company to release its successor.

We have seen a couple of Redmi Note 2 rumors thus far, and now we have yet another one to share with you. We finally get to see some real life images of this handset which popped up in China. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll see a number of alleged Redmi Note 2 real life images. What’s interesting here, is that this handset is made out of metal, which is great for a device in this price range. The Redmi Note was one of the best selling Xiaomi-branded devices ever, and the company has high hopes for its successor.

According to some previous leaks, the Redmi Note 2 might feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM. The device will allegedly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor and feature 13 and 5-megapixel cameras on its back and front, respectively. There you have it folks, it seems like the Redmi Note 2 will sport a metal build after all, this is definitely not the first time we hear about it, the device has surfaced a while back along with a rumor about a possible metal build materials.

The Redmi Note 2 is expected to launch in the coming months, and you can expect it to be rather affordable, as its predecessor was. The Redmi Note 2 will face tough competition in China though, there are many China-based smartphone OEMs which are offering really well-specced devices these days and you can buy them on the cheap. Xiaomi does have an edge here, this company is actually the number one smartphone OEM in China at the moment, and they have a lot of fans both inside and outside of China.
