Oppo R7 And R7 Plus Design Confirmed By The Company

Oppo R7 has been leaking all over the place for the last couple of months actually. This handset has been spotted in a ton of images and even a couple of video clips. A while back, a differently designed Oppo-branded device popped up which resembles the Oppo R7, and the rumors have been saying that the phone will be called the Oppo R7 Plus. Well, Oppo has just confirmed the existence and the design of both the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus prior to the launch of these two devices which is supposed to take place on May 20 in China. Anyhow, read on.

If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll see four official renders showing off the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus handsets. Both of these devices will offer premium metal (magnesium alloy) build quality and a 2.5D curved glass on top of their respective displays. The Oppo R7 will feature three capacitive buttons below the display: menu, home and back, respectively. The Oppo R7 Plus, on the other hand, won’t offer capacitive buttons. This handset will sport an ‘Oppo’ logo below the display, and on-screen buttons will replace the capacitive ones, as we already assumed in our earlier articles. This is a first for Oppo actually, the company usually incorporates capacitive buttons in their devices, not the on-screen ones. Both the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus will feature the company’s VOOC Flash Charge technology which is capable of charging the 3,000mAh battery from 0 to 75% in just half an hour.

Oppo R7 was certified by TENAA quite recently, and that listing revealed that the phone will sport a 5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device will land in two variants, one will be powered by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC, and the other one will ship with MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor. The Oppo R5 will feature 13 and 8-megapixel cameras, and will ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed with Oppo’s Color OS on top of Google’s operating system. Both of these variants will offer 4G LTE support, and the Oppo R7 will be only 6.3mm thick and will weight 139 grams.

There you have it folks, the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus have been officially confirmed. The official unveiling will take place on May 20 in Beijing, so stay tuned for that.
