It seems like new information regarding Oppo R7 handset arrive on a daily basis lately. We’ve seen a ton of leaks and rumors regarding this handset, and it even received TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) network certification a couple of days ago. Well, this handset popped up on TENAA yet again (Oppo R7t and R7C version, just like before), but this time around the phone’s design and specifications get confirmed. It seems like the phone will have capacitive buttons below the display, as the majority of leaks were stating, this leaves us wondering if Oppo intends to release another version of this device sporting the physical home button below the display. The company has mentioned the variant of this device with the physical home button, but was rather unclear whether will they launch it or what will it be called. Either way, we’ll get back to you when we get more info about that, let’s check out Oppo R7’s specs and design now, shall we.
According to TENAA, two versions of this handset will hit the market. One version will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, and the second version will sport MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.7GHz. The Snapdragon-powered version will quite probably launch outside of China, and the MediaTek model will be Asia only. There are no further differences between the two devices (except different network bands), at least as far as we can tell. The Oppo R7 will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, just as we thought it would. The phone will ship with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 128GB). On the back of this handset you’ll find a 13-megapixel snapper below which the LED flash is located, while there’s an 8-megapixel shooter available up front. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed on this device with Oppo’s Color OS on top of Google’s operating system.
The Oppo R7 will measure 143 x 71 x 6.3mm and weight 139 grams, which means it will be both heavier and thicker than the Oppo R5, but this is still one of the thinnest devices around. The Oppo R5 was the thinnest device in the world when it launched back in 2014. Anyhow, this will also offer 4G LTE connectivity in both of its versions, and you can expect it to launch next month, we don’t know the exact date just yet though.
