Information regarding Oppo R7 has been leaking for weeks now. We’ve seen this device in various images and video, and now quite a few details about it. This China-based company has been constantly teasing certain aspects of the device and has recently also confirmed that the device will land on May 20. The Oppo R7 is a rather interesting handset which will sport minimal bezel on the sides, but thanks to the 2.5D curved glass on top of the display and Oppo’s neat light trick, it will seem like there is no bezel on the sides whatsoever, which is why this device is also called ‘bezel-less’ quite often.
Anyhow, Oppo has already confirmed that this handset will sport metal unibody design and the device was also certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), so we also know its specifications. We’ll talk more about that later on though, because Oppo has released yet another Oppo R7 teaser. This time around the company gives us a good look at the back side of their upcoming Oppo R7 handset and its metal back. That’s not all though, the company has confirmed that we’re looking at a magnesium alloy back here. You can also see the phone’s rear-facing 13-megapixel camera on the back and an LED flash which is located below the sensor itself. Oppo’s logo is also located on the back of this handset, and a SIM tray seems to be located on the right side of the device.
According to info provided by TENAA, the Oppo R7 will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 128GB). This phone will come in two versions actually, one will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core SoC, and the other one will ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor on the inside. The MediaTek variant is probably meant to be launched in Asian markets only. The 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset as we’ve already mentioned, and the 8-megapixel shooter will be located up front. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed on this device with Oppo’s very own skin on top of Android called Color OS. The phone will offer 4G LTE connectivity, measure 143 x 71 x 6.3mm and weight 139 grams.
