Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets have been launched back in March, and are available for purchase all over the world at the moment. These two devices are the first unibody smartphones Samsung has ever made, and the S6 Edge is rather unique due to its curved display on the sides. In order to promote their flagships, Samsung has partnered up with Marvel, and has released a number of Avengers-themed accessories for the Galaxy S6. Well, the accessories are not the only thing that Samsung has released, the company has also unveiled the Iron Man-themed Galaxy S6 Edge a couple of days ago.
This variant of the device is officially called the ‘Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition’, and the company has already released it in Korea. The Special Edition Galaxy S6 Edge ships with 64GB of internal storage and costs 1,199 million won ($1,084) in Korea. The device will hit China and Hong Kong next month, but Samsung hasn’t released any info regarding the device’s availability outside of Asia.
That being said, the first units of Iron Man Galaxy S6 Edge have appeared on eBay, and their price is insane. There are a number of different auctions live on eBay, and some of them are even priced above $7,000. You might think that nobody might bid for the handset at that price, and you’d be wrong, the last bid was actually $7,100! The auction doesn’t end for quite some time now, so there’s a chance the price will be even higher soon. As a side note, Samsung has released only 1,000 units of this handset in China, so that probably has something to do with it as well, while limited availability is also a factor.
This Iron Man Limited Edition S6 Edge actually sports the same specs as the regular Galaxy S6 Edge. The handset features a 5.2-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and is powered by Samsung’s 14nm Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor. The 16-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of this handset, while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper available up front. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this handset with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.
