Renders Of ASUS ZenPad 8 Surface Ahead of June 2nd Launch

This month saw the launch from ASUS of the ZenFone 2. Well, to be correct, it saw the North American launch of the ZenFone 2 as the device had already been launched in China awhile back. As such, there was not anything too revealing behind the most recent North American launch. That is, except for the price. For a device that comes sporting a wealth of high-end specs like 4GB RAM, the North American launch price of $299 certainly made an impact. ASUS have been able to bring to market a device at a much cheaper price point than many other companies and effectively shown what can be offered in the U.S. for $300.

As such, next month (technically, just over a week from now) many eyes will be watching ASUS during the annual Computex event which takes place in Taiwan. Following on from the popular ASUS ZenWatch 2, ASUS are also planning to launch a couple of Zen themed tablets too. These are reported to be the ZenPad 7 and ZenPad 8. Very little is known about the two devices, although they are expected to launch with a 7 and 8-inch display respectively. Other than this, the only other notable rumored spec is that the ZenPad 8 display will come equipped with a 2048 x 1536 resolution, which suggests a 4:3 ratio. It is also becoming widely expected that the two devices will come equipped with an Intel Z3560 processor, much like the ZenFone 2 did.

Well, although the main bulk of the specs still remain unknown, it now does seem that a couple of renders of the ZenPad 8 have leaked online. Once again, the renders do not give too much away although they do show that the ZenPad will come equipped with front facing speakers. Not to mention, the back of the device seems to be sporting a soft touch covering. This looks to be a leather (or esque) based covering (at least on the FonePad 8) and there also seems to be a microSD card slot located on the right of the device (as shown in the image below). With the Computex event only a matter of days away, it should not be too long before we get to see exactly what is on offer with the latest ZenPads from ASUS
