Samsung Parters With Snapchat User To Promote Galaxy S6 Edge

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is one of the most interesting devices that were recently launched and by the looks of it, it might be the most interesting phone from 2015. It combines a good industrial design made with premium materials like Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back and an aluminum frame surrounding the phone. The Super AMOLED display is among the best ones that can be found in any recent flagship smartphone, not only because it sports a very high resolution, but the technology behind it makes it brighter to be used under direct sunlight and dimmer than most in dark scenarios. Of course, what makes this phone so different from the rest is that the display is actually curved on both sides. Samsung has always been very good advertising their devices, although some may argue that bashing phones from other companies or using cheesy puns are not the best ways to promote the products, they certainly seem to have worked more than once and have helped the company to sell millions of Galaxy phones.

Now Samsung has partnered with Snapchat celebrity Shonduras for a new advertising campaign. It’s not the first time that companies have partnered with this user to create branded content targeted to a teenage audience because his creations, which consist in photos with drawings on top of them, will seem very contemporary. Samsung is taking a chance and has created 4 videos that teach users some less known techniques to create some of the drawings on the Snapchat app featuring the Galaxy S6 Edge and showing the camera capabilities of the device at the same time. The so-called “Edge-ucational” videos show Shonduras acting casual and kind of goofy taking some photos that he will later alter, he doesn’t show much knowledge about technology but he seems to enjoy that particular phone. In the first video, he shows how simple it is to create straight lines on a photo in order to make a roller coaster. The second video, featuring his dogs, is dedicated to applying some filters to a portion of the screen. In the third one, the 16 MP camera really shows off, as a friend of his capture him while jumping in a peculiar position with a sunset in the background, he shows how to change the opacity of the drawing lines. The last video tips about taking a selfie with the press of the volume button in the headphones, so the distance is no longer limited to the length of an arm. Check the videos in the source.
