The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Edge Gets Sleek Concept Renders

Hearing rumors, predicting what the new upcoming devices would look like, what they would feature, imagining their processing power and their design is one of the most interesting things for a geek. It’s always interesting to speculate on rumors surrounding new flagships, concept renders of the unannounced devices, and leaks regarding the powers of their hardware. A few days back, the Galaxy Note 5 concept images surfaced. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be launched later in the year likely around September, to take over as the company’s flagship phablet device. Along with the Galaxy Note 5, Samsung will likely also launch the Galaxy Note 5 Edge device just like they did with the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge not too long ago, as well as the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge last Fall. The sales of the Edge devices, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge, confirms that the Edge devices are here to stay and Samsung will more than likely continue to launch Edge variants of both mobile and phablet flagships in the future.

While there is nothing official from the Korean Giant on the next generation of their phablet devices, there are rumors and concept designs to keep us entertained until the devices are officially announced. Today Ivo Maric, an indie graphic designer, released shiny concept images of the new Galaxy Note 5 Edge. The renders of the device look fairly similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge if only a bit bigger to fit along with the size of the Note series of devices. The renders also point to an ultra slim metallic body just like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

The phablet is rumored to feature a 4K display, whereas the Note 4 featured a 2K display. The screen size could come in at 5.9 or 6.0 inches with a curved SuperAMOLED panel with 4K resolution. The display panel of the phablet would obviously be manufactured by Samsung Display. It is evident that Samsung Display will start shipping 4K AMOLED displays soon, this makes a 4K screen on the next-generation Note phablets a strong possibility. The Note series will likely be powered by Samsung’s home-brewed Exynos 7422 as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge used the Exynos 7420 instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810. Rumors are that the Note series will also pack 4GB of RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery. Samsung has could also utilize expandable storage in the upcoming Galay Note devices this year, unlike the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge which had fixed amounts of internal storage space only. It’s also possible that they could stick with the decision to include only internal storage space and again pass on the microSD card slot.
