ZTE’s upcoming Nubia Z9 flagship has been leaking for a long time now. We’ve seen this device from basically every imaginable angle, and the company has also teased the device a number of times thus far. The company’s ‘bezel-less’ flagship will launch tomorrow in China, and join the likes of Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini which have launched a couple of weeks ago. This China-based smartphone OEM has released a slew of new teasers prior to the launch of this device and some additional device images leaked on the side, let’s see what’s that all about.
If you take a look at the gallery below this article, you’ll notice a number of ZTE’s official teaser images which are presumably hinting at some additional ‘FiT’ gestures. Speaking of which, ‘FiT’ stands for ‘Fringe Interaction Technology’ which will reportedly be a part of ZTE’s upcoming flagship. This basically means that you’ll be able to swipe on the sides of Nubia Z9’s display in order to activate certain functions on the phone itself, click here if you’d like to see ‘FiT’ in action. You’ll also find ZTE’s official teaser image in the gallery down below along with with a new images that leaked which is showing the Nubia Z9 in real life. As you can see in that image (last image down below), the only thing that stands between Nubia Z9’s display and the user’s hand on the side is a very thin metal frame, the black bars are not present here. The phone does look quite sleek and judging by the available specifications and images, this handset will be really narrow.
Speaking of specs, this handset was certified by TENAA a couple of days ago, and revealed a rather odd spec sheet. According to TENAA, the Nubia Z9 will sport 8GB of RAM and an octa-core SoC clocked at 3.5GHz. That part of the phone’s specs seems way off, the handset will quite probably ship with 4GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 2.5GHz. The 16 and 8-megapixel cameras will also be a part of this package, and you can also expect this phone to sport 5.15-inch display, at least according to TENAA. The latest rumor also claims that the Nubia Z9 will cost 4,299 Yuan ($693), which is a really steep price point. Either way, the phone will launch tomorrow and we’ll make sure to report back as soon as that happens.
