The much awaited HTC’s new flagship HTC One ME dual sim was launched by the president of HTC South Asia, Faisal Siddiqui at an event recently. The device has already been announced in China earlier this month and considered as the plastic backed version of the dominant flagship HTC One M9+. Though it is built of plastic, the specifications of the device don’t make it cheaper on the page. Let’s see what the device has packed in below.
Coming to specs, the device supports dual nano sim and dual standby functionality which Indians expect in every device mostly. And also, the device is scaled with a 5.2 Inch Quad-HD IPS display with a (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution which is the latest trend of all flagship devices. This puts HTC into competition with the flagship devices of other top most OEM’s like Samsung and LG in the display portfolio. Under the hood will be the 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) processor with 64-bit architecture and a PowerVR G6200 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) which MediaTek claims to be the powerful and energy efficient performer from its house. The onboard memory includes 3GB of RAM which is huge and sufficient for day-to-day activities and power-hungry tasks like gaming. There is 32GB of internal storage which can be further expandable with the Micro-SD card. To support the 64-bit processing, the device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC’s custom Sense 7 UI on the top of it. Coming to the camera department, the device sports a 20.7 MegaPixel rear camera with dual LED flash and supports 4K recording. Unlike the HTC One M9+, it doesn’t have a depth sensor which has set a new trend in the industry. The front facing camera is a wide angle lens with f/2.0 aperture bonded with the HTC’s UltraPixel Technology aimed at selfie-lovers which provides more room for group shots.
Apart from these, HTC included its own sound hardware which contains Dual front facing speakers located at the bottom of the device branded as BoomSound speakers coupled with Dolby Audio repeating the same design perspective from many HTC One series of flagships. The device also features a fingerprint scanner in the middle of the Home Button following Samsung and Apple in this aspect. Connectivity includes 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS with GLONASS. There is no improvement in battery further and the device imports the same as that of its metal-bodied brother which has the capacity of 2840mAh. The device is launched in 2 variants comprising a Classic Rose Gold and Meteor Grey skins on them priced at Rs.40,500. There is no information whether the device goes to sale in brick and mortar stores or in online marketplaces, but will be available by the end of this month.
