Asus has held a press conference at Computex 2015 in Taipei, Taiwan. The company had lots to say, they announced the ZenWatch 2 smartwatch, ZenFone Selfie smartphone, the high-end ZenPad S 8.0 tablet and a couple of more gadgets at the event. Speaking of which, the company has actually announced four tablets during the press conference. The ZenPad S 8.0 is the best specced out of the bunch, and we’ve already covered its announcement separately, let’s see what the rest of the pack has to offer, shall we.
This Taiwan-based company has also announced the ZenPad 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1 next to the S 8.0. Asus talked the most about the high-end model, and didn’t really release all that much information regarding the rest of them. One thing is for sure though, these tablets resemble each other quite a lot. What we do know, however, is that the ZenPad 7.0 will feature a display 1024 x 600 in resolution, while the ZenPad 10.1 will ship with a panel 1280 x 800 in resolution. Both of these tablets will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with Asus’ ZenUI on top of Google’s operating system.
The ZenPad 8.0 features rounded edges, and a metallic frame. This tablet also sports a leather patterning, and will come with interchangeable back covers. The company will also sell multiple Zen Case back covers which will be available in various colors. These back covers will also offer extra functionality. To name some of them: Zen Clutch folio, Power Case battery cover (extra 4,000mAh battery on the inside) and an Audio Cover (6 speakers included).
“ZenPad is a series of premium tablets that combine refined styling with incredible entertainment and productivity capabilities to redefine the tablet experience and bring true luxury to consumers,” said Asus in the company’s press release. There you have it folks, the company has announced 4 new Android-powered tablets which will be available in the coming weeks. Asus didn’t share any details as far as pricing goes, unfortunately, so we’ll have to get back to you on that.
