AT&T GoPhone adds the 2015 Moto E

AT&T GoPhone has added another smartphone to their selection of prepaid devices. This time it’s the Moto E 2015, which was announced earlier this year – right before Mobile World Congress actually. It is a really great device. We spent some time with it in February and March and really enjoyed our time with the device. Given it’s a smartphone that costs $129, and somehow Motorola is making a profit on this thing, somehow.

For those wondering, AT&T GoPhone is using the 4G LTE model of the Moto E here and not the 3G model. Which is usually around $100. Instead they are selling the Snapdragon 410-powered 4G LTE version for $99.99, and that’s without a contract. The Moto E 2015 does indeed do all day battery as well. There is also 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM in the Moto E 2015. As far as camera’s go, the Moto E isn’t going to win any awards. It’s a 5MP camera on the back and a VGA camera around front. Good enough to get the job done, but it won’t amaze you with quality.

The Moto E 2015 joins the newly announced ZTE Maven. Newly announced as in announced this morning. It’s specs are pretty similar and costs $60 out the door. Between AT&T GoPhone and Cricket Wireless, there are plenty of smartphones available on prepaid on AT&T’s network. For those that don’t need a “superphone” that can do everything under the sun. And just need a phone that can make calls, texts, and even send/receive emails.

Currently, AT&T is only selling the Moto E 2015 in black, however, you can buy different bands for the device from Motorola. Which include the colors of red, white, blue, and many others. While it’s not quite as customizable as the Moto X or even the Moto G, it’s still better than sticking with the same color Moto E as everyone else has.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, be sure to go check out our review of the Moto E 2015 4G LTE, that is one long name, I think you’ll be shocked at just how good of a phone this really is.
