Elife E8 Hands-On Video Leaks, Release Date Revealed

Gionee is a Chinese smartphone OEM which we’ve been talking about quite frequently lately. This company has announced their Elife S7 handset during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company intends to launch two more devices in the coming weeks, the mid-range M5 and the company’s flagship phablet, Elife E8. Anyhow, we’re here to talk more about the Elife E8 flagship considering some new info surfaced, read on.

We already knew how the Elife E8 will look like, and what specs will it carry considering the phone has been leaking like crazy over the last couple of weeks. That being said, the phone now surfaced in a video clip as well, and the launch date has popped up as well. The phone’s design is showcased quite nicely in the video, and you can even see a piece of its software as well. No need to say it, but this is a huge device, which is easily visible in the video.

The Gionee Elife E8 will sport a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) panel, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This handset will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.9GHz and the PowerVR Rogue G6200 GPU will be in charge of graphics processing. The 23-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset and will allegedly be able to take 100-megapixel images by stitching a bunch of smaller images together. The 8-megapixels snapper will be located on the front side of this handset, and Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Gionee’s skin on top of it, as you can see in the video. The Elife E8 will also feature a rear-facing fingerprint scanner which will be located below the camera.

That being said, we knew that the phone will arrive in June, but we didn’t know when. Well, according to info from GizChina, the device will arrive on June 10th. Stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as we stumble upon some additional info.
