Emerald Green Galaxy S6 Launches in India

When Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge back in March at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. They announced quite a few colors, or rather showed off quite a few colors of these two flagships. Arguably, everyone’s favorite color was the Emerald Green Galaxy S6. With the way it changes colors in different lights, it definitely excited a lot of people. Most countries and carriers only got the white, or the navy blue color, with a few getting Gold. Now the Emerald Green color is available in India.

The Galaxy S6 does feature a 5.1-inch 2560×1440 resolution AMOLED display, along with an Exynos 7420 octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. There’s also the choice of 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of storage as well as a 16MP camera on the back which takes some pretty stunning pictures. We also have a fingerprint scanner in the home button, which works almost perfectly, especially when compared to the Galaxy S5.

Asim Warsi, who is Vice President of Marketing, Mobile & IT at Samsung India Electronics stated about the launch:

“Galaxy S6 Edge Emerald Green provides a simply stunning colour choice that meets the needs of those who want a sophisticated, yet brilliantly designed mobile device. We aim to bring a truly one-of-a-kind Smartphone to consumers and provide them with a seamless combination of dynamic beauty and meaningful purpose, complementing every part of their mobile lives.”

Those of you in India can head on out and pick up the Emerald Green Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge right now. The price of the Galaxy S6 in India is currently going for around Rs. 40,000, which converts to about $624 USD. That’s about the same price as we are paying here in the States for the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S6 is not available in Emerald Green in the US, or in many other countries, so India really lucked out. It’ll be interesting to see how many users decide to pick up the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge in Emerald Green now that it’s available.
