Gionee To Unveil Elife E8 And M5 On June 10 In China

Gionee has been mentioned quite frequently lately, all over the mobile news space. This company has released their Elife S7 handset during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and two of their handsets are going to land soon. The Gionee M5 and Elife E8, the latter is actually the company’s upcoming flagships which we’ve talked a lot about already. That handset has been certified by TENAA a while back, and basically revealed its specifications and design, but now we have some extra info to share with you.

According to a report from GSM Arena, Gionee has confirmed that the phone will sport a 23.7-megapixel camera. That’s not all though, the source says that the 6,020mAh battery has also been confirmed for the Gionee M5, along with the release date and time for both of these handsets. The Elife E8 and M5 will launch in Beijing on June 10 at 7PM (local time) in China Film Directors Center. The company’s president, William Lu, will be the first one on stage, and according to the source, Gionee will also announce their partnership with the National Geographic photographer, Fritz Hoffman.

The aforementioned camera included in the Elife E8 package will be able to stitch images in order to create a 100-megapixel final image, while the Gionee M5 will a huge 6,020mAh battery. According to TENAA, the Gionee Elife E8 will feature a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phone will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 64-bit octa-core processor, while an 8-megapixel snapper will be available on the back of this device. Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this phone, along with Gionee’s skin which will be installed on top of Google’s OS.

The Gionee M5, on the other hand, will feature a 5.5-inch 720p AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The unnamed 1.3GHz quad-core SoC will power this handset, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be available on its back. Android Lollipop will come pre-installed on this device as well, and the Gionee M5 will measure 152 x 76 x 8.6mm, while it will weight 213 grams. Anyhow, stay tuned for more info.
