For awhile now there have been tons of rumors circulating and pertaining to the rugged variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Active. There has been leaked renders of the device, photos of it, lists of specs and just about every type of device leak that you could possibly imagine. But, Samsung has still yet to make the device official with any sort of announcement. Today though, Samsung gave, albeit accidentally, all the information needed to prove that the Galaxy S6 Active is an actual device.
Today on Samsung’s official website there is a new user manual for a device, can you guess which device that would be? If you said the Galaxy S6 Active, you were correct. The user manual showed up despite the device not yet actually being official and it shows the device from just about any angle you could possibly imagine. As far as how the device looks, it looks very similar to the Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S5 Active. Something worth pointing out though is that the device still retains the IR blaster and heart-rate monitor from the regular Galaxy S6. There also appears to be no annoying flap covering the microUSB port. While there are no official specs for the Galaxy S6 Active as of yet, there are some pretty solid rumored ones. Those are a 5.1-inch Quad-HD display, Exynos processor, 16MP camera, 2550mAh battery, and 32GB of internal storage. Some other leaked details about the device are that it will have a special camera mode made for shooting pictures and videos underwater, it will have some software built in called “Activity Zone,” and will be running Android Lollipop out of the box.
That’s essentially all there is to know about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. It should come as no surprise to anyone that the device exists and is coming as Samsung has released an Active variant of their flagship smartphone every year since the Galaxy S4. These Active devices have been popular among those who partake in activities outdoors and have rugged jobs, so why would Samsung stop making them?
