Earlier this morning HTC officially unveiled a special limited edition 24-karat gold version of the HTC One M9, which they outed via an image on their official Twitter account. The phone release is a special commemoration to the ending of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Final, which HTC displayed with an etched design on the back of this limited edition device. The phone is glitzy by all accounts and anyone who has a passion for things that are glamorous and shiny will surely fall in love with it, especially with the good looking pictures HTC took of the phone to show off its appealing outer aesthetic.
The phone looks nice, especially if gold is your thing, and HTC certainly planned on getting people to notice something new and limited. What HTC didn’t plan on was anyone drawing attention to the reflection of the iPhone which they used to take the initial picture. The picture was taken and then posted up the web via Twitter (as stated above) where HTC introduced the world to the phone, and rather quickly someone noticed the reflection and went about pointing it out in the most appropriate way possible, by tweeting about it. It didn’t take long for HTC to notice the mistake and they have since deleted their initial tweet with the original image, lucky for anyone who hadn’t seen it yet, screencaps were taken and the tweet originally pointing out the iPhone is still up as well.
All jokes aside, if you love gold, the 24-karat gold HTC One M9 is certainly a lofty goal to shoot for. It won’t be cheap, you can be sure of that, so if you’re already scheming on how to get your hands on one, just be sure to have a large sum of money ready to give away in return for owning one of these. HTC hasn’t given out any official details about when this device will be available or how much it will cost exactly, but if it’s 24-karat gold it will definitely have a high price tag. You also have to take into account they will be limited, hence the reference from HTC to the words “limited edition.”
