Huawei is one of the biggest Chinese smartphone OEMs, and this company really stepped up their game in the last year or so. Huawei has announced a number of great smartphones lately, and a really sleek Android Wear-powered smartwatch as well. That being said, one of Huawei’s handsets has been leaking like crazy over the last couple of weeks, the Honor 7. We’ve seen a ton of content regarding this handset, and the company has finally announced it today. Anyhow, let’s see what the Honor 7 has to offer, shall we.
The Huawei Honor 7 is made out of metal, and it sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner which is located right below the camera sensor. The device sports a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 935 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 2.2GHz, and a 3,100mAh battery is also a part of this package. The device features a 20-megapixel snapper (Sony’s IMX230 sensor) on the back, and alongside it you’ll notice the dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 8-megapixel shooter is available on the front side of this handset, and 4G LTE connectivity is also a part of this package (though the 3G variant is also available). The device will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with Huawei’s EMUI (Emotion UI) 3.1 skin on top of it. The Honor 7 measures 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5mm, while it weighs 157 grams.
That being said, Huawei has actually released three variants of this handset, all of which will be available for purchase in China starting on July 7. The most affordable variant ships with 3G connectivity and 16GB of RAM and costs 1,999 Yuan ($323), while the very same device with 4G LTE will set you back 2,199 Yuan ($355) in China. The most expensive Honor 7 model ships with 4G LTE connectivity, and 64GB of internal storage, and it is priced at 2,499 Yuan ($403).
