Huawei has released both their flagship smartphone and phablet for this year, the Huawei P8 and P8Max. These two devices were released earlier this year, and this China-based smartphone OEM is preparing to release additional high-end hardware soon. The Mate 8 phablet will arrive later this year, and the Huawei Honor 7 will land on June 30th. The company has been teasing their upcoming premium smartphone for a long time now, and the phone was also certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). We’ll talk more about its specs later on, we do have some pricing info to share first.
If you take a look at the image below this article, you’ll notice the leaked pricing of Huawei’s upcoming device. The listed price is $599, which makes this thing really pricy (a lot pricier than earlier leaks suggested), presuming this info is accurate, of course. Interesting enough, this would make the Honor 7 more expensive than the Huawei P8, which seems odd, so take this info with a pinch of salt. Anyhow, according to rumors, Huawei plans to release two variants of the Honor 7 handset. The two devices will be identical in every aspect except RAM and internal storage count. The standard variant will ship with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and the high-end model will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of in-built storage.
The Huawei Honor 7 is said to sport a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display and a 3,280 battery. Both the Kirin 935 and Kirin 940 processors have been mentioned in leaks, but according to TENAA, the device will ship with Kirin 935 SoC on the inside. The 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of the Honor 7, and Android Lollipop will come pre-installed on this device. You can also expect the Honor 7 to sport a premium metal build, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. This handset will also offer 4G LTE connectivity (both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE will be supported).
There you have it folks, the Honor 7 will launch on June 30th, and it will have some serious competition at said date. Meizu will launch the company’s new MX5 flagship on that very same day, which makes things a whole lot more interesting. Either way, stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as we stumble upon additional info.
