Huawei has announced quite a few smartphones in the last couple of months, including the huge Huawei P8Max phablet which was showcased next to the Huawei P8 Lite. That phablet sports a massive 6.8-inch 1080p display, and is one of the biggest smartphones out there, if it sported a 0.2-inches bigger display it would officially be considered a tablet. The P8Max release didn’t exactly surprise many people though, consumers like huge devices, and we’ve seen quite a few of them being launched in the last couple of years. Well, it seems like P8Max will get some competition soon, read on.
The Lenovo PB1-770N was certified recently by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). This device, much like the P8Max, will feature a 6.8-inch display. The phone will ship sporting a metal unibody design, and according to the available info, it will measure 186.6 x 96.6 x 7.7mm, which will actually make it taller, wider and thicker than the P8Max. This handset will offer 4G LTE connectivity, and the certified variant came with support for TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, cdma2000, CDMA 1X and GSM networks. The 3,500mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and the same can be said about two SIM card slots which will be at your disposal. Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this thing, with Lenovo’s custom UI installed on top of it.
That’s all the info that we have at the moment, but according to some reports from China, this thing might be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor. As you can see in the images below, this phablet will feature volume rocker and power / lock buttons on the right side, and the SIM card slots will be located on the left. The device will also feature a dual-LED, dual tone flash which will be located next to the camera sensors in the upper left corner of the phone’s back side. There you have it folks, it seems like Lenovo is looking to compete directly with the Huawei P8Max. Anyhow, we’ll report back as soon as some additional details surface, stay tuned.
