LG G4c Heads to Europe, Pre-order in the UK

LG typically announces a lower-end, smaller model of their flagship devices. Last year it was the LG G3s, and the LG G2 Mini the year before. This year it’s the LG G4c. Which is now available in the Netherlands at BelSimpel for â‚¬248 and in Italy at Stockisti for â‚¬249. Over in the UK, pre-orders began today for the LG G4c at retailers Handtec and Carphone Warehouse for £179.99.

The LG G4c is being marketed as a compact device. In fact, the slogan LG is using here is the “See the great, feel the compact” instead of “See the great, feel the great”. Obviously since this is a compact model, it’s going to have a few things missing compared to the LG G4. While the design is much the same, we only have the plastic backs on the G4c, no leather. Although that shouldn’t be surprising really. The LG G4c has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, along with a gig of RAM and 8GB of storage. Of course, there is a microSD card slot included. Along with a 8MP camera on the back which does not have laser auto-focus or LG’s color spectrum sensor they added on the LG G4. It does have a rather hefty 2540mAh battery to power the 5-inch 720p display. It also has a slight curve like the LG G4 has. So the specs aren’t terrible, of course we’d love for LG and others to follow Sony’s lead and produce a smaller smartphone with the same specs as their flagship brother.

On the software side, Knock Code, Gesture Shot, and Glance View are all here. There’s also Android 5.0 Lollipop installed out of the box. It’s always great to have Lollipop installed out of the box, unlike some other “cheap” smartphones out there. We’re likely to see the LG G4c available in other parts of Europe in the very near future. Of course, as soon as that happens we’ll be sure to let everyone know. So they can go ahead and pick one up, if they are interested.
