Meizu MX5 Is Official, Metal Body And 3GB Of RAM In Tow

Meizu MX5 has been one of the most talked-about Chinese smartphones in the last couple of months. The device has been leaking all over the internet for quite some time now, we’ve seen a ton of images, videos, benchmark listings and even certifications listings. That being said, Meizu has just announced their new flagship in Beijing, and it’s pretty much what we’ve expected it do be, read on.

The Meizu MX5 is made out of metal, and it sports a physical home button below the display, Meizu’s mTouch home button which we’ve already seen on some of Meizu’s previous devices. This home button actually doubles as a fingerprint scanner, in case you were wondering.. This handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080, 401PPI) Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit octa-core processor along with the PowerVR G6200 GPU for graphics, and a 3,150mAh battery is also a part of the package. Speaking of the battery, this phone comes with mCharge (fast charging) feature, which means you’ll be able to charge this battery from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes according to Meizu. The 20.7-megapixel camera (f/2.3 aperture, 6P lens) is available on the back of this handset (LED flash is available below it, and the camera also offers Laser Autofocus, which is very surprising), and a 5-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture) is located on its front side. Android Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Meizu’s Flyme 4.5 UI on top of it. This handset also offers dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity, though that was to be expected.

The Meizu MX5 is only 7.6mm thick, and it weights 149 grams. This handset actually resembles Meizu’s previous offerings a whole lot in terms of the design. The speaker is once again located on the back of the MX5, and the device looks very sleek. Meizu MX5 will be available in Grey (two different variations) and Gold color options. What about its pricing? Well, the Meizu MX5 actually comes in three internal storage variants with 16, 32 and 64GB of storage space. The cheapest one costs 1,799 Yuan ($290), the 32GB model will set you back 1,999 Yuan ($322), and the most expensive 64GB model is priced at 2,399 Yuan ($403).
