As you all probably know by now, Huawei will be releasing their high-end Honor 7 handset on June 30. The company has released a ton of teasers thus far, and we basically know how the phone will look like and what specs will it utilize. Anyhow, we’re not here to talk about Huawei though, but we mentioned Huawei for a reason. Our sources at Meizu reached out to us a while back, and said that the company will hold an event at the end of this month. Well, according to some rumors in China, the event might occur on June 30, the same day Huawei is holding their Honor 7 event.
Interesting enough, two Meizu-branded devices have been heavily leaking recently, the Meizu MX5 (recently leaked render pictured above) and Meizu M2. The former is this company’s upcoming flagship, while the latter is the mid-range handset which was actually certified by TENAA recently. Well, according to a report from China, Meizu will actually release their flagship on June 30th. Take this news with a pinch of salt though, we cannot confirm it at this point. Either way, let’s see what we know about the Meizu MX5 thus far.
Well, this handset has also been certified in China earlier this month. According to the listing, the MX5 will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and a number of internal storage variants. MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor is expected to fuel this handset, and a 3,150mAh battery will quite probably also be a part of the package. The 20-megapixel shooter will be located on the back of this handset, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be located on its front side. Android 5.0 Lollipop will be here out of the box with Meizu’s Flyme UI on top of it. This handset will offer 4G LTE connectivity, and will be made out of metal. The Meizu MX5 will measure 146 x 74.6 x 7.9mm, weight 147 grams, and the fingerprint scanner has also been mentioned several times.
There you have it folks. Meizu will definitely hold an event later this month, and if this leak is accurate, the event will occur on June 30 and Meizu will announce their newest flagship. Anyhow, we’ll report back if we managed to dig up any additional info, stay tuned.
