Meizu has unveiled the M2 Note handset quite recently, and if you’d like to check out our review, click here. That being said, this China-based smartphone OEM has released ‘only’ two devices this year, the Meizu M1 and M2 Note. They’re expected to announce several more by the end of 2015, including the Meizu M2, MX5 and MX5 Pro. We still can’t confirm that all of these devices will make an appearance, but all three of them have been leaked lately, and especially the MX5 and MX5 Pro.
The company has unveiled M2 Note 10 days ago, and now we have some info regarding another event Meizu will be holding in China. According to our sources at the company, Meizu will hold an event later this month, we still don’t know the date though. Now, there are several possible announcements at said event, Meizu M2, MX5 and / or MX5 Pro. The Meizu M1 was announced earlier this year, and despite the recent leak, it’s kind of hard to believe Meizu would announce its successor so soon, but it’s possible.
This leaves us with MX5 and MX5 Pro flagships. Well, the Meizu MX5 is definitely a possibility, and the company might opt to launch that thing next to the MX5 Pro. Both of these handsets have leaked a number of times in the last couple of weeks, and have even popped up on certification listings in China. Both of them will sport high-end specifications and will be made out of metal. The Meizu MX5 is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3 or 4GB of RAM and a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back. The MX5 Pro, on the other hand, might sport a 6-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) panel along with 4GB of RAM and the same 20.7-megapixel snapper as the Meizu MX5. Both of them will ship with Android Lollipop (we still don’t know which version), and Meizu’s Flyme UI will be installed on top of Google’s OS.
There you have it folks, Meizu will be holding an event later this month, and you can expect to see new hardware being announced. Stay tuned for more info, we’ll report back as soon as possible.
