Meizu has recently announced their M2 Note handset, a direct successor to the M1 Note which launched at the end of last year. This China-based company has released a number of really appealing smartphones last year, and it seems like this year won’t be any different. Combining premium build with solid specs, well-performing smartphone and compelling price point have proven to be a winning combination for Meizu. That being said, the Meizu MX5 is quite probably the most anticipated Meizu-branded handset of the year. We’ve seen a ton of leaks and rumors regarding this device, and new info has surfaced yet again, read on.
We’ve seen the alleged Meizu MX5 pictured in images, as well as handled in a video, and now we have some new renders to show you. If you take a look at the gallery down below you’ll notice two new MX5 renders, one with the screen on, and the other one with the screen off. You’ll notice that the device doesn’t sport any side bezels in those images, aside from the frame which is holding the device together. There are also no black bars present, as you can see in the first image down below. The rumored physical home button is here yet again, and it seems like it’s here to stay. The company has decided to include such home button on the M2 Note as well, and it seems like every smartphone they introduce this year will sport it, at least judging by what we’ve seen thus far.
Keep in mind that these two renders are different from what we’ve seen thus far though, the home button in these renders is thinner, and it somewhat resembles Samsung’s Galaxy S6’s offering. This is also the first time we see the Meizu MX5 sport no bezels on the sides, which is interesting. You can also notice the metal frame here, which goes all around the device, but that was to be expected. The aforementioned physical home button will quite probably double as a fingerprint scanner as well.
This handset is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing shooter. According to various rumors, the Meizu MX5 will be quite affordable as well, priced at 1,999 Yuan ($322). The device will quite probably be announced in August, so stay tuned.
