New LG Trademark Surfaces For A 'Watch Urbane Luxe'

Smartwatches are still not technically considered a mainstream product as many people who own a smartphone still don’t own a smartwatch to pair with it, but that hasn’t stopped manufacturers from continuing to develop and produce more options for people so they have a little more choice to find the perfect fit. Earlier version smartwatches lacked a little bit of style and fashionable design, but that changed when Motorola introduced the Moto 360, and the rest is history. LG then soon followed up their first smartwatch with the LG G Watch R, their first round smartwatch, and more recently they launched their third device, the LG Watch Urbane.

As premium as the Watch Urbane looks, LG appears to have a more premium version of the Watch Urbane in mind for the future, as a new product trademark has been spotted that points to something that will possibly be more high-end than their current Watch Urbane offering. The trademark lists something called the LG Watch Urbane Luxe, which sounds like it could be a more deluxe version of what they have available now. Unfortunately though there isn’t any detail on what this watch will actually offer in terms of design, build materials, or software. Since the actual details on the watch are scarce, we can only assume what it might bring to the table.

It’s possible that it could run Android Wear as all of their smartwatches thus far have, but LG does offer an LTE model of the Watch Urbane which runs their own in-house WebOS platform, so there is also a possibility that this new Watch Urbane Luxe could do the same. So far there haven’t been any rumors about another Watch Urbane version on the way, so whatever LG has planned for this trademark it’s obviously being kept under wraps pretty tightly. This leaves one to wonder what the cost and specifications will be. Will it really be worthy of the “Luxe” terminology in its name? Time will tell, for now though all anyone can do is let their imagination take control and speculate on all the possibilities for this potential new wearable.
