The Meizu M2 wasn’t the only interesting handset that popped up on TENAA today, same thing happened with Xiaomi’s new offering. As you probably recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Mi 5 / Mi 5 Plus were the devices that leaked most oftenly in the last couple of weeks, well, the phone that leaked is something else entirely. This is somewhat weird considering we were waiting for the company to launch one of the aforementioned phones first, but it seems there’s another device in the mix. Anyhow, let’s see what’s what.
The certified device actually sports a 5-inch display, which basically excludes all of the aforementioned devices. So, what device is this? Well, it could be the Redmi 2S, or something similar to that. The Redmi 2 was basically the successor to the Redmi 1S, so we didn’t really expect the company to release the Redmi 2S, but it is possible. On the other hand, this could also be the Redmi 3 handset, though it seems a bit too soon for the company to release it, the Redmi 2 launched back in January. Either way, we’ll find out soon, let’s check out its specs, shall we.
Keep in mind that not all specs were listed during certification, but we do know that this handset will sport a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, and that it will ship with a 3,030mAh battery on the inside. This will also be a dual-SIM handset which will offer 4G LTE connectivity (TD-LTE / FDD-LTE). The phone will measure 138.5 x 70. 7.82mm, which seems a bit big for a 5-inch handset, but there you have it.
That’s basically it, the listing didn’t contain images, or anything of the sort, these partial specifications is all we’ve got at the moment. This smartphone will quite probably resemble the Redmi 2, that’s just a guess though. We don’t know when will Xiaomi release this thing, but it will quite probably happen in the coming weeks. That being said, we’ll almost certainly see more leaked material before the company releases this thing, so stay tuned for that, we’ll report back as soon as some additional info surfaces.
