OnePlus Shows Off OnePlus Two Engineer Test Unit

OnePlus One was, according to many people, one of the best smartphones in 2014. That handset had a lot going for it, from an extremely affordable price tag, to solid build, great specs and Cyanogen’s software on the inside. There was a catch though, you were not able to purchase this device without an invite for a long time, though you’re able to do so now. The invite system is gone as far as OnePlus One goes, but it will be back when the second-gen OnePlus flagship arrives. Speaking of which, OnePlus has announced an interesting contest yesterday, which we’ve already talked about, but are here to talk more about it.

If you take a look at the provided image which OnePlus posted on the company’s official Facebook page, you’ll be able to see a smartphone on it, but not a OnePlus One. This handset is shaped differently than OnePlus One, this is in fact an engineer test unit of OnePlus Two. The company has actually confirmed this fact, as you can see in the provided image. Keep in mind that this is just a test unit, so the final design might not reflect what you can see here, it probably won’t actually. The device is very well covered, and we really can’t see much detail as far as its design goes, unfrotunately. That was to be expected though, OnePlus is just trying to hype up their upcoming flagship.

That being said, it has been confirmed recently that OnePlus Two will arrive in the third quarter of this year, so you can expect it to launch within the next couple of months. As previously mentioned, the OnePlus Two will be available for purchase only if you’re able to get your hands on an invitation to buy one. The phone will quite probably feature 3 or 4GB of RAM, and be powered by one of Snapdragon’s SoC, the Snapdragon 810 is the most likely candidate at the moment, but we can’t confirm anything yet. Either way, stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as we stumble upon some additional OnePlus Two news.
