Real Life Image Of The Upcoming Meizu MX5 Pops Up

Meizu rumors have been really persistent lately, especially the ones regarding Meizu MX5 and MX5 Pro. Both of these handsets have been leaking intensively over the last couple of weeks, and the MX5 Pro has even been certified earlier today. These two devices will be Meizu’s flagships for this year, and direct successors to MX4 and MX4 Pro. A lot of info leaked, and now we have yet another piece of the puzzle to share with you, read on.

Another Meizu MX5 image leaked, and this time we’re not looking at a render of the phone, but a real life image. Unfortunately, only the back panel of the phone has surfaced, we still don’t get to see its front side. It seems like this is just a shell of the phone, not the device itself, which is easily visible if you take a look at the camera cutout on the back. You can easily see that the camera which goes into the slot will be circular, while the slot itself is squarish in order to hold the camera sensor in place. The cutout for the dual-LED flash is located below the sensor itself, which is its usual placement on Meizu’s handsets. This shell is actually made out of metal, as it was the case with both the Meizu MX4 and MX4 Pro.

According to TENAA’s certification listing which appeared earlier this month, the Meizu MX5 will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (more internal storage variants will quite probably be available though). This handset will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,150mAh battery was also mentioned. The 20.7-megapixel shooter (Sony’s sensor) will be available on the back of this handset, and the phone will measure 146 x 74.6 x 7.9mm, while it will weight 147 grams. Android 5.0 Lollipop will ship out of the box with Meizu’s Flyme UI on top of it, and 4G LTE connectivity will also be included.

It is possible that Meizu intends to launch this thing later this month considering our sources did tell us that the company will hold an event in China. We still don’t know which device will be announced, but the MX5 announcement is a real possibility at this point.
