Rumor: UMi To Release New Headphones By The End Of 2015

UMi is a rather interesting China-based smartphone OEM. This company hasn’t exactly released a ton of smartphones to date, but they did have some compelling offerings, like the UMi Zero handset which launched at the end of 2014. That handset sported some really nice specs, it was powered by MediaTek’s MT6795T octa-core processor, and it also sported 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera. That being said, another UMi-branded handset has been unveiled quite recently, the UMi EMAX, which is available for pre-order already via various resellers. The company has partnered up with a range of resellers: Coolicool, BangGood, AliExpress, FocalPrice, GeekBuying… not to mention that their smartphones are also available via Amazon and eBay.

The UMi EMAX is not the only UMi-branded device that will be launched soon it seems. According to the latest rumor from China, UMi DIGI plans to release new headphones by the end of this year. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll see the final product, or at least that’s what we’ve been told by our sources. These seem to be Bluetooth wireless headphones, and as you can see, they’ll feature a built-in volume and track controls on one side. The headphones look quite nice, at least judging by this render. According to our source, these headphones will cost around $100, and as mentioned before, you can expect them to be released in the coming months.

We’ll report back as soon as we get some additional info regarding UMi’s upcoming headphones and / or devices, so stay tuned for that. This product will have some significant competition to face once the company releases it, and it will certainly be interesting to see how well will it fare out in the market. Such accessories can always do well, as long as they sport solid build and quality sound, the latter is the most important thing when it comes to headphones, of course. All of UMi’s currently available smartphones are very well-built, so we expect that the company will do the same with their upcoming headphones. Either way, stay tuned for more info.
