Samsung has released Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 handsets a while back. These three smartphones are actually mid-range offerings by this Korea-based company, and three additional ‘Galaxy A’ devices were trademarked by the company back in March, the Galaxy A6, A8 and A9. We haven’t exactly seen much info when it comes to the Galaxy A6 and A9, but the Galaxy A8 has been leaking all over the place in the last couple of weeks.
That being said, the Galaxy A8 has also been certified in China by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) recently, and it seems like the same thing happened in the US as well. The Galaxy A8 (SM-A800) has popped up in FCC listing, and even though that listing doesn’t reveal all that much details (aside from the usual connectivity details), this moves the phone 1 step closer to its launch. Speaking of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy A8 will include dual-band Wi-Fi and 4G LTE support. TENAA’s listing revealed this handset’s specifications, so, let’s check out what it has to offer.
The Galaxy A8 will feature a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs, and 16GB of internal storage which you’ll be able to expand via microSD card up to 128GB). This handset will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, and the 3,050mAh battery will also be a part of this package. On the back of this device, you’ll be able to find a 16-megapixel snapper, and the 5-megapixel shooter will be available up front for your selfie and video call needs. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this phablet with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI installed on top of Google’s operating system. The Galaxy A8 will measure 158 x 76.7 x 5.94mm, while it will weight 142 grams.
