Samsung has announced quite a few devices this year, and the most notable Samsung-branded offerings are the Galaxy S6 flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were announced during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona back in March, and are currently available for purchase all over the world. This Korean tech giant has announced the Galaxy J5 and J7 handset a couple of days ago, both of which feature front-facing LED flash. These two devices are the first Samsung-branded offerings to offer the LED flash on the front, and are at the same time mid-range smartphones.
That being said, Samsung has announced the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 devices a while back, all of which are mid-range smartphones. The Galaxy A8 is supposed to be yet another mid-ranger released by the company, and has leaked a number of times thus far. Well, it seems like this handset has just got certified in China by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). According to the listing, the Galaxy A8 will feature a 5.7-inch 108op (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC will power this handset, and a 3,050mAh battery will also be included in this package. The 16-megapixel camera will be located on the back of the Galaxy A8, and an 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front. The Galaxy A8 will offer 4G LTE support (both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE), and will measure 158 x 76.7 x 5.94mm, which will also make it Samsung’s thinnest device. This phablet will weight 142 grams, and Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this device with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI installed on top of it.
There you have it folks, the Galaxy A8 has been certified and it’s just a matter of time before Samsung officially announces it. This handset was trademarked along with the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A9 back in March, and we still haven’t heard much regarding those two devices. Either way, it seems like Samsung intends to release the Galaxy A8, and the aforementioned two models will follow soon after.
