Sony has been focusing on upgrading the details of their flagship lineup rather than making more noticeable changes to the industrial design or the hardware that goes along with these phones. No better example comes to mind than the Xperia Z3+ which left the hardware of its predecessor pretty much the same while making it a little thinner, now measuring 6.9 mm and a little lighter with a weight of 144 grams. Also, the metallic frame in the middle of the tempered glass covering the front and back of the device has received a special treatment to make it shinier and apparently less slippery. Another small improvement comes in terms of the display, while Sony decided to use the same 5.2-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution, but it is brighter and has a warmer tone, plus it seems to work better when it gets wet to take advantage of the IP68 certification that makes it waterproof and dustproof.
While the main camera on the back kept the same 20.7-megapixel sensor that the company has been using for a while now, the one in the front now has a 5-megapixel resolution and the Exmor R image sensor lets it capture more light while the 25mm wide-angle lens allows more elements to fit into the selfies taken with it. The new internals features the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, although it might have some issues with apps that require more power. The amount of RAM is still 3GB and its internal memory is now 32GB and it can be expanded with Micro SD cards.
The Xperia Z3+ has been available in the UK for just a couple of days, Carphone Warehouse was the first retailer to have it in stock and they got the Ice Green color option as an exclusive, they also added Hi-Res headphones to the bundle offered from Sony. Now, two more retailers have this phone in stock, Clove and Unlocked Moviles, both of them priced it at a slightly lower price at £499.00 and it is available in Black or White. The Copper colored option is still not available, but it will probably be exclusive to another retailer.
