Sony's Xperia Z3+ Can Now Be Pre-ordered In Indonesia

Sony’s Xperia Z3+ can now be pre-ordered in Indonesia, via online retailer DinoMarket. The price listed on the website is 9,499,000 Rupiahs, which would translate to around $714. The smartphone is also available for purchase as part of bundles which include the Sony Smartwatch 3. The retailer says, the device will be up for pre-order all through June, and will start shipping to its rightful owners from July 6th. The device has already been up for pre-order in the UK and Europe for a while now, and is also rumored to be launched in India on June 26th.

The Xperia Z3+ is an incremental upgrade over the Xperia Z3, which is why Sony has not branded it as the Xperia Z4 internationally. The company however, is still using the Xperia Z4 moniker in Japan, even though that particular device is almost identical with the international Z3+ version, but for the Digital TV and FeliCa (contactless RFID smart card system) present in the Japanese variant, neither of which is available in the Z3+. Before the Xperia Z4 was launched in Japan, speculations in the media seemed to indicate that Sony’s next generation flagship might be a completely redesigned new smartphone featuring a QuadHD display. Things however, turned out differently, and Sony ended up basically launching the same device with two different names in different markets, leading people to believe the company’s next generation flagship will be named the Xperia Z5, thereby ditching the Z4 moniker in international markets altogether.

Even though Sony has come up with fairly confusing nomenclature for its current flagship device, it’s not the only hot mess the company finds itself in, with the Xperia Z3+. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s controversial Snapdragon 810 SoC, and unfortunately for Sony, there are already reports of the phone suffering from the inevitable overheating issues that the ill-fated MSM8994 chip is said to come with. As for the rest of the hardware specifications of the device, it features a 5.2 inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The device comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, and features a 20.7 megapixel camera on the rear. The battery on the device is rated at 2,920 mAh, and the device also comes with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
