Vivo has announced a couple of devices in the last couple of months, and Vivo X5 Max+ was one of them. That handset is kind of a successor to the Vivo X5 Max which was announced way back in December last year. The Vivo X5 Max+ is a rather powerful mid-range offering by the company, it’s very thin and offers premium build materials and quality. That being said, Vivo has showcased yet another X5 variant a couple of days ago, the X5 Platinum.
The Vivo X5 Max Platinum Edition sports almost the same specs as the Vivo X5 Max+, but with one big difference though, the included battery. The X5 Max+ ships with a 2,300mAh battery on the inside, while the X5 Max Platinum Edition packs in a 4,150mAh unit. This, of course, makes the phone somewhat thicker than the X5 Max, and it measures 7.2mm, which is still very thin. This handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). This thing is powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 1.7GHz which ships with a Mali-T760 GPU for graphics rendering. The 13-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) is located on the back of this smartphone, while a 5-megapixel snapper can be found on the front. This is a dual SIM handset (nano SIM + micro SIM) which offers 4G LTE connectivity.
The Vivo X5 Max Platinum Edition comes in Gold and White color options, and the first unboxings have started popping up in China. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice a number of X5 Max Platinum images which will certainly give you a better look at this handset. The phone isn’t anything to write home about as far as pure design goes, but it’s well built. There are three capacitive buttons below the display: menu, home and back, respectively. The bezels are, unfortunately, very visible on this device, but you do get a rather big battery on the inside… so, it all depends on what your preferences are.
