Acer S59 Specs Leak Revealing 13MP Cameras & Android 5.1

There has been a number of new devices becoming available of late. There has also been a number of devices being rumored of late. Not to mention with IFA in September slowly approaching, there will be a number of rumored devices becoming confirmed and others disproven. One of the companies who has been rumored to have device(s) en route is Acer. Back in mid-June details of what seems to be the latest addition to the Acer Liquid range, the Acer Liquid Z630 were leaked online. Well, if recent benchmarks are anything to go by, then the Liquid Z630 is not the only Acer smartphone on the way.

A new device was spotted on GFXBench and going by the name Acer S59. Thanks to the listing, the specs of the device are now known and highlight what clearly seems to be a selfie-oriented device. The Acer S59 comes equipped with a 5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Inside, the S59 comes equipped with 2GB RAM and powered by a MediaTek (MT6753) octa-core processor (clocking at 1.3GHz). The device comes with 16GB internal storage and is listed as coming with a microSD card slot to expand on the storage. One of the most interesting specs noted is the rear and front cameras are both listed as 13-megapixel offerings, therefore, highlighting that this is likely to be a selfie-oriented device once released. It is also worth noting that the device is listed as being able to record in 4K. Lastly, the Acer S59 will come running on Android 5.1 out of the box.

So all in all, the Acer S59 looks like it could be quite an interesting device. Of course, there is no indication of price and other specs like the battery life remain a mystery for now. However, on the information provided, the Acer S59 might be one to look out for. Also, there is no firm indication of whether this will be the name of the device used at launch or whether this will be launched along with the already mentioned Liquid Z630. Either way though, it does seem that Acer are repairing a couple of devices for launch in the near(ish) future.
