Verizon Updates Moto X (2014) to Android 5.1
Last week we saw the Moto X Pure Edition as well as unlocked GSM models get the Android 5.1 update, but this week Motorola users on Verizon are getting the same treatment. Android 5.1 has been a long time coming for Moto X users, but it’s finally here, and with it comes some performance improvements and possibly some better battery life.
Sprint Gives Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Users Android 5.1.1
Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users on Sprint will be getting Android 5.1.1 this July 4th weekend, if that haven’t already got it. Following in the footsteps of T-Mobile, Sprint have detailed their updates here for the Galaxy S6 and here for Galaxy S6 Edge.
Motorola DROID Turbo finally gets Lollipop Update
The DROID Turbo is one hell of a phone, but as it’s exclusive to Verizon, this had people worried about software updates. Well, while it might have taken them and Verizon a little time, the DROID Turbo is finally getting Lollipop in the form of Android 5.1 this week. Things started off of as a soak test, but Verizon has said that the update will be rolling out wider starting shortly. The full changelog is here, from Motorola.
Galaxy Note Edge Sees Lollipop on Verizon
The Galaxy Note Edge started off something cool from Samsung, but it was never going to be their flagship Note. Still, Verizon haven’t forgotten about it, and the Lollipop update is now available from Verizon. This will bring some of Lollipop’s Material Design to your Note Edge, which Verizon is calling “bolder colors” in their release here.
HTC One M9 Gets Android 5.1 on Sprint
Since the release of the original HTC One, HTC have tried their best to deliver faster updates, and they’re mostly keeping to that. The HTC One M9 on Sprint is getting software version 2.6.651.11 which brings with it the latest version of Lollipop as well as some promised camera improvements. Moto X (2014) Gets Android 5.1 on AT&T, Too
Motorola said that they were working on Android 5.1 for some time now, and this past week we’ve see the results of that. Just as with the Moto X on Verizon, the 2014 model is getting Android 5.1 on AT&T, too. David Schuster, wealth of knowledge all things Moto updates, said later in a post on Google+ that the AT&T update is go, for everyone.
HTC Desire Eye Gets Lollipop on AT&T
The Desire Eye was something of a strange release from HTC, but for a lot of users it represented a fun, colorful take on the One brand. Those users on AT&T will be getting their update to Android 5.0 Lollipop this week, HTC announced on Twitter.
Galaxy S5 Gets Performance Update on AT&T
Last week, the Galaxy S5 got Android 5.1.1 on T-Mobile, but this week AT&T is sticking with Android 5.0 Lollipop with a fairly large performance update coming in at just about 300MB or so. The full changelog, which is for the SM-G900A, can be found here.
