BlackBerry Launch BES12 Partnership With Android For Business

There has been a ton of activity in the rumor mills over the last few weeks surrounding BlackBerry. By now, most will be well-versed with these rumors, but to sum up, a BlackBerry device which runs on android is supposed to be incoming and apparently soon. The rumors seem substantial enough to lend a lot of support to the idea that the device is en route. Although, there does seem to be debate as to whether there is one device (BlackBerry Venice) or two, with one being a lower-end budget option (BlackBerry Prague). Either way, the likelihood of a BlackBerry Android device en route does seem to be increasing.

Well, stepping aside from the rumors for a minute, back in February of this year, BlackBerry and Google announced a partnership of sorts which would bring together BlackBerry’s security features and Google’s Android Lollipop operating system. Also, more recently, yesterday saw the news coming through that Samsung and BlackBerry had announced their partnering up together to bring users a more security focused KNOX experience with the inclusion of BES12 features. Well, following on from this, it now seems BlackBerry have officially announced an extension of their partnership between BES12 and Android Lollipop for the business and enterprise sectors.

The news (source link below) details that BES12 (Blackberry Enterprise Server) now works with Android Lollipop to offer business users a more secure and enterprise functional service. According to the BlackBerry website, the partnership offers users the functionality of Android Lollipop while doing so with the security of BES12 on android devices which are used in the workplace. According to the details and in addition to the already Lollipop compatible features of BES12, business users can expect a higher level of end-to-end security, a unified administrative control, the ability to lock-down devices from the client side and a comprehensive EMM. BlackBerry is now inviting companies to try out the new advanced services and offering a free 60-day trial service.
